How Group IFS Therapy Works

In IFS Healing Circles, you’ll:

Identify Parts: With the guidance of myself, a trained IFS therapist, you’ll identify different parts of yourself and understand their roles.

Build a Relationship with the Self: You’ll learn to connect with your calm, wise Self, which will guide the healing process.

Heal Parts: I will guide the group in addressing and healing wounded parts, often by revisiting past experiences in a safe way.

Foster Group Harmony: When we gather in this way, we find healing through witnessing and being witnessed. Our parts love to know that they are not alone in this life journey, and they often relax back, allowing space for Self energy to emerge, which provides a sacred space for each other.

5 Unique Benefits of Group IFS (IFS Healing Circles)

Did you know that IFS views the mind as a system of parts, each with its own emotions and roles? These parts are led by our core Self, which is calm, wise, and compassionate. IFS helps harmonize these parts, fostering healing and balance.

The healing power of a group is exponential to that which we receive in individual therapy. We benefit from witnessing and being witnessed by others. Developing a sense of community is one of the most integral components to growth and wellbeing.

1. Shared Experiences

In a group setting, you’ll find others who are also exploring their inner worlds. Sharing your journey with others who understand can create a strong sense of community and belonging. This shared experience can be incredibly validating and reassuring.

2. Collective Wisdom

Each group member brings unique insights and perspectives. Through group discussions and shared reflections, you gain new understanding and ideas that might not emerge in individual therapy. This collective wisdom can enhance your personal growth and healing journey.

3. Mutual Support

Group IFS therapy provides a supportive environment where members encourage and uplift each other. This mutual support can boost your confidence and motivation to tackle life’s challenges and embrace new opportunities.

4. Enhanced Empathy and Compassion

Listening to others’ stories and experiences can deepen your empathy and compassion, both for yourself and others. This enriched emotional capacity can improve your relationships and help you navigate life with greater emotional intelligence.

5. Accountability and Motivation

Being part of a group can provide a sense of accountability. Sharing your goals and progress with others can motivate you to stay committed to your healing journey. The group dynamic helps you stay focused and engaged in the therapeutic process.
