Group Therapy

A group format allows you to unlock the power of community healing, connect with others on a similar journey, share insights, and foster self-compassion in a nurturing environment.

Internal Family Systems group therapy can provide a safe space to explore and harmonize your internal parts, leading to transformative personal growth and enhanced emotional well-being.

I am an IFS-trained therapist (Level 2) and look forward to guiding and facilitating your group.

Recent Groups

  • This six-week series was for post-menopausal women who identified as being in (or moving toward) the Crone phase of life (the older wise woman).

As we age, there are parts of us that struggle with physical, cognitive, and emotional changes - or parts that wish to remain young and create resistance to embracing new ages and stages of life.

This group offering allowed space for members to explore these parts together, and create individual intentions based on what the Crone phase of life meant to them.

  • This 3-part series is for post-menopausal women who previously completed the 6-week Embracing the Crone Archetype group.

In Going Deeper, group members have the opportunity to explore parts of themselves they find most activated during this phase of life and become acquainted with them on a deeper level.

“The 6-week group sessions on IFS and “parts” work were very beneficial. Kim Wilson is a gifted facilitator and I was very comfortable with her guiding the group through this interesting work.”

IFS & Group Therapy

IFS posits that the mind is made up of multiple "parts," each with its own perspectives, memories, and emotions. The goal of IFS is to foster harmony among these parts, led by the Self, which embodies qualities like compassion, curiosity, and confidence.

There are many benefits of participating in groups that embrace the Internal Family Systems approach including:

Shared Learning and Insights

- Group members learn about the IFS model together, gaining insights into their own internal systems and understanding how their parts interact.

- Observing others' processes can illuminate personal patterns and dynamics.

Collective Support

- The group provides a supportive environment where members can share experiences and insights about their parts.

- Hearing others' stories often normalizes individual experiences and reduces feelings of isolation.

Interactive Exercises

- Being guided through IFS exercises, such as identifying and dialoguing with different parts.

- Members can practice these techniques in real time, receiving feedback and support from both the therapist and peers.

Witnessing and Validation

- Group members take turns sharing their work with their parts, receiving compassionate witnessing from others.

- This collective witnessing helps validate each person's internal experiences and promotes healing.

Role-Playing and Dynamics Exploration

- Members might engage in role-playing exercises to better understand their parts' interactions and conflicts.

- This helps individuals see how their internal dynamics play out in relationships and group settings.

Building Self-Leadership

- The group setting provides numerous opportunities to cultivate and practice Self-leadership skills.

- Members support each other in accessing and embodying their Self, leading to more compassionate and effective internal leadership.

“The greatest gift for me was the "space" created after each session. I felt like there was more internal space to move more freely in the world; I feel less bogged down with my own life situations, able to "live" a little.”
